HOYT REFERENCE
 DEPARTMENT

The Reference Department serves as a vital source of information to the community of the Wyoming Valley.  Librarians are available to assist patrons in the use of materials and electronic databases.  We will answer your questions in person, by telephone or via E-mail.

COMPUTERS AND INTERNET ACCESS

New WiFi Service at our library
You can now bring your laptop to the library and connect to the World Wide Web.

The Hoyt has fourteen (14) computers for public use, all of which are internet accessible.  All of the computers have Microsoft Office installed, which contains programs with the following components: word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentation program, and a variety of other useful programs.

INTERLIBRARY LOANS ( ILL )

Should the Hoyt Library not have the book that you are looking for, it is possible to receive the book through interlibrary loan.  Interlibrary loan allows patrons to receive books unavailable in their home library through county, state or nationwide libraries.

How does one request an ILL?  Visit the Reference Librarian and ask for an ILL card.  Fill in the requested information regarding the item you would like (author and title is usually sufficient) and the library will call as soon as the item is received.

        POWER Library

Pennsylvania Online World of Electronic Resources
The POWER library allows patrons to access thousands of full text periodical articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, plus photographs, pictures, charts, maps, reference materials for young people and more. There are materials of interest in most subject areas for all age groups from young children to adults.
