HOYT LIBRARY DONATION POLICY

The Hoyt Library is not accepting books and other donated material at this time due to space limitations. 

 The collection of the Hoyt library has been developed by the librarian and through the acceptance of gift materials over many years.

 We are grateful and appreciate the generosity of persons that donate materials to the library, however to maintain a quality collection for all, the Hoyt library has established some basic guidelines.

 The Hoyt will happily accept the following materials in new or nearly new condition:

             HARDCOVER  BOOKS – 5 YEARS OLD OR NEWER
 

bullet

             PAPERBACK BOOKS  – 3 YEARS OLD OR NEWER
 

bullet

             LITERARY CLASSICS – ANY AGE BUT IN GOOD CONDITION
 

bullet

             MUSIC COMPACT DISKS - UNDAMAGED AND WITH ORIGINAL
             CASES AND BOOKLETS
 

bullet

             BOOKS ON TAPE AND CD - UNDAMAGED AND WITH ORIGINAL
            CASES AND BOOKLETS
 

bullet

             VIDEOCASSETTES/DVDs - UNDAMAGED AND WITH ORIGINAL
             CASES AND BOOKLETS

 Dated, yellowed,  damaged or musty items will not be accepted.   The Hoyt will NOT accept the following materials:

             CONDENSED BOOKS

              MAGAZINES
 

bullet

              NEWSPAPERS
 

bullet

              TEXT BOOKS

 If you plan to make a large donation, please contact the Hoyt library at 287-2013.

 All donated material becomes the property of the Hoyt Public Library and are added to  the collection, sold or otherwise discarded as the library chooses.

 Receipts, if requested, will state the number of materials donated and material type.  A monetary value for the items donated will NOT be provided.
